The Future

What does the future hold in store for me? I wonder. And well I should. I'm at the crossroads of my life now. The choices I make now will determine my future. And I'll readily admit that I'm scared. Really scared. I guess you're supposed to be.

Argh. Uncertainty. I hate it.

Religion

I like to say, "I am not religious, I just believe in Jesus."

And that's basically true.

Here are my thoughts on the issue.

I am (and always have been) a Christian. "Why a Christian?" you may ask...

Here's why:
1. I believe that there is a God. I do not believe that this universe was created by accident. The universe is too perfect for it to have been created by chance. The Big Bang may well have happened, but I believe that the Big Bang was masterminded. Nothing cannot become something by the laws of this universe. Therefore something beyond the laws of this universe must have brought it into being. I do not dispute the Theory of Evolution, but neither do I accept it as fact (it is, after all, still only a theory). God may well have instigated evolution, knowing that mankind would be the end result.

2. I believe that there is only one God. Even if there are Gods of Heaven, Earth, Nature, Love, and whatnot, I believe that there must be an ultimate Creator who created even those Gods. Therefore only the Creator is worthy of attention.

3. I believe that God is a perfect being, at least from the perspective of a human being.

4. I prefer to trust that God is a God who loves human beings beyond our understanding (agape love) because if God does not love us, life would not be worth living, and there would be no point to life.

5. I believe in good and evil, and the concept of sin. The basic ground rule of good and evil is: do to others what you would others do to you. You break that rule, you sin.

6. I believe that no one is perfect, simply because we're not God. Therefore everyone sins.

7. I prefer to believe in life after death. Because if there isn't, life would be without purpose or meaning, and I can't accept that (cause if that's the case, we might as well kill ourselves and be done with it, as everything would be meaningless).

8. I believe that because everyone sins, we are separated from God, as sin is imperfection, and God is perfect. Also, I believe that one cannot reverse this separation by doing good deeds. This is because doing good is merely complying with the ground rule of good and evil (see above). Breaking that rule cannot be atoned for by merely resuming compliance with that rule after breaking it. Breaking that rule means imperfection, thus eternal separation from God, because God is perfect. Breaking that rule can only be atoned for by punishment (that is, eternal separation from God- kinda roundabout, don't you think?).

9. I believe that because God loves us, He would find a way to bridge that gulf between us (the gulf of sin).

10. I believe that Jesus is that bridge. I believe that Jesus was a perfect being (thus divine), and that he received our punishment for us (separation from God), so that in doing so, we can go back to God (the fine is paid). I believe that all we have to do to be able to return to God is to accept as Jesus as our Saviour (use the bridge to cross the gulf). I believe that by receiving him, we (our souls) are able to go back to God when we die, to be done with as He will (my concept of heaven=).

That's why I'm a Christian.

However, I do believe in free will, that everyone should be free to make his or her own decision. Therefore, I do not believe in coercing anyone into believing anything, but only in presenting my point of view and letting each individual make his own decision.

With that, I invite everyone to share his or her own point of view of the issue that we may together make better decisions. One thing is paramount, though: to keep an open mind.

Also, I invite anyone to challenge my beliefs. If you can point out any flaws or present a strong enough argument against them, I will reconsider (that's what's called keeping an open mind, isn't it?=).

God bless.

A breath of fresh air

Well...

I'm remodeling this ancient blog of mine...

Two years older, thus two years wiser... (i hope)

I'm no longer gonna write about me...

As I've given up trying to keep a diary....

This blog will now be used to publicise my opinions and thoughts on anything and everything...

In real life, that is...

My fantasies belong to Edenia.

Expect the unexpected expected.
